The first six years of your child’s life are unlike any other time he or she will ever experience.
During these formative years, your child develops immense amounts of knowledge, talent, and skills, building the essential foundation for the rest of his or her life.
Dr. Maria Montessori described the changing needs of children during various stages of their lives as "planes of development." During the Toddler years (18 months to 2.5 years), a child will have specific needs that are very different from his or her needs during the Primary (3 to 6) or the Elementary (6 to 12) years. By understanding these planes of development, we as educators can follow the needs of our children and better enable them to develop their potential.
Every classroom in Bannockburn is geared towards the child’s unique stage of development. Utmost care is taken in every prepared environment, filled with stimulating Montessori materials that engage the different skills, interests, and talents of each child, designed to foster freedom and independence, and directed by fully-qualified teachers. Students are given the tools to learn on their own, and are guided towards academic, social, physical, emotional, and spiritual growth.
Bannockburn students graduate with a love of academic knowledge, a solid sense of self, and the confidence and character to share their gifts with the world.
