Parent Communication

The education of children is a lifelong goal that can only be achieved through the partnership of the school and its parents. In order to successfully work together in the best interests of our children, regular and open communication must be maintained.

- An annual orientation package is distributed to all parents, containing information about the upcoming school year and the Parent Handbook.

- Classroom Orientation Evenings are held in September for each level.

- Progress Reports are shared twice a year, followed by one-on-one Parent Teacher Interviews.

- Parents and teachers are encouraged to keep in touch throughout the year by phone or verbal communication. Teachers and administration are available at any time before or after school to talk with parents.

- Each staff member and administrator has their own extension on the phone system which the teachers check every school day.

- Thursday information packages are sent out bi-weekly.

- Newsletter is distributed monthly.

- Presentations on each of the areas of the Primary classrooms are done in the Fall Term.

- Student and parent visits are held once in each of the three terms at the end of the day.

- Parent/Child Surveys are conducted as part of Bannockburn's open communications.
