Physical Education

The Physical Education curriculum at Bannockburn is comprised of three major areas of knowledge and skill, all of which are organized around the following three strands:

Healthy Living - nutrition, safety, growth and development, health risks

Fundamental Movement Skills - locomotion, manipulation, stability

Active Participation - physical activity, physical fitness

A common element taught in these three strands is living skills, such as personal, interpersonal, conflict resolution, goal-setting, organization, time-management, problem solving and decision-making.

Sports in the Physical Education Curriculum include: Tennis, soccer, basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, track and field - hurdling, triple jump, high jump, sprinting, softball, football, gymnastics, dance and sport aerobics.
