Students are introduced to computers in the Elementary Program.
The Lower Elementary environments have one computer workstation each for individual students who would like to enhance their projects with supplementary Internet research and basic word processing applications.
The Upper Elementary classroom has several laptops, which enables the students to move freely and work with computer applications anywhere within the space of the Upper Elementary Environment and, if needed, within the school. The primary uses for computers in the Upper Elementary classroom are word processing and supplementary research on the Internet. Students are educated on how to use the Internet effectively, safely and properly. Typing skills are also formally developed through specific typing applications on the computer, and students frequently enhance the visual presentation of their projects through various desktop publishing programs.
All elementary students also have access to a computerized library catalogue and research terminal in the Library.
Computers are not used in the Primary or Toddler programs.
