In addition to the Annual Giving Program, there are many different opportunities for parents to give to the Bannockburn School community.
Be a Classroom Parent Representative
Volunteer to be a Classroom Parent Representative (Class Rep.). You will be a number of parents from your child’s classroom. During the year, we will make phone calls to the parents to keep them informed of the BPA and other school activities. You will also be a resource for the parents to contact if they have any concerns or questions regarding the BPA. There are only a limited number of times during the year, that we ask the Class Reps to make phone calls. These calls are done on your time.
Ice Cream Social
Get to know your children’s classmates and their parents at a casual event. Each class is scheduled to meet after school early in the school year. Ice cream and refreshments for parents and children are served, and the students and their siblings play while parents become acquainted. We need 2-3 parent volunteers per class to help set up.
Family Directory
From BPA information and classroom listings to parent-sponsored advertisements, this directory will help families get the most from Bannockburn and its community. Let us know how we can improve it.
Pizza Days
This is a popular event for children and parents alike! Pizza, drinks and fruit are served at lunch. Sign-up sheets available inside the School’s front entrance. We need 2-3 parent volunteers to prepare the fruit that accompanies the pizza and drink.
Hearts of Bannockburn
This year’s big fundraiser will be filled with fun and friends, ideal for chasing away those February blues. We will post all the details in the new year.
Recess Volunteer
Want to be a part of your child’s school experience? Watch your children interact with others while you supervise recess period. The children really enjoy having parents watch them play and having an opportunity to introduce their friends. Commit to one recess period a week or share it with another parent.
Library Volunteer
Find out what your children are reading while you catalogue and re-shelve books in the library. Many volunteer times are available during normal school hours. Training is provided.
